Multisensor Integration for Scene Classifiction: An Experiment in Human Form Detection
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper presents a system for classiication of scenes using a multisensor integration framework. Indoor scenes are imaged using a visual and an infrared sensor and the images processed in three stages to perform classiication of sensed objects into two classes: human and background. Finally, information from individual classiiers is integrated in order to obtain an improved classiication performance. Details of feature extraction and classiication using neural network combining are presented. Segmentation of the imaged scene is performed using existing techniques such as texture analysis and histogram modeling. Classiica-tion results on real-world data are presented. The system represents a rst step in the development of improved , robust classiiers based on the concepts of neu-ral networks and multisensor integration.

متن کاملCompressed Domain Scene Change Detection Based on Transform Units Distribution in High Efficiency Video Coding Standard
Scene change detection plays an important role in a number of video applications, including video indexing, searching, browsing, semantic features extraction, and, in general, pre-processing and post-processing operations. Several scene change detection methods have been proposed in different coding standards. Most of them use fixed thresholds for the similarity metrics to determine if there wa...
متن کاملAudiovisual integration facilitates unconscious visual scene processing.
Meanings of masked complex scenes can be extracted without awareness; however, it remains unknown whether audiovisual integration occurs with an invisible complex visual scene. The authors examine whether a scenery soundtrack can facilitate unconscious processing of a subliminal visual scene. The continuous flash suppression paradigm was used to render a complex scene picture invisible, and the...
متن کاملA Cost Effective Synchronization System for Multisensor Integration
Time synchronization is the primary prerequisite for multisensor integration. Many methods have been used in different systems, but they are either too expensive or inconvenient for research purposes. In this paper the system design of a Cost Effective Synchronization System (CESS) is described, and two experiments are described that have tested the synchronization accuracy of the system. They ...
متن کاملJust Noticeable Difference Estimation Using Visual Saliency in Images
Due to some physiological and physical limitations in the brain and the eye, the human visual system (HVS) is unable to perceive some changes in the visual signal whose range is lower than a certain threshold so-called just-noticeable distortion (JND) threshold. Visual attention (VA) provides a mechanism for selection of particular aspects of a visual scene so as to reduce the computational loa...
